Engineering Review and Application Status of Drinking Water Projects

Plans and specifications for new public drinking water system facilities and significant updates to existing facilities must be reviewed by the Center for Drinking Water Quality under Public Drinking Water regulations [216-RICR-50-05-01] and for new or updated pool facilities under Licensing of Aquatic Venues regulations [216-RICR-50-05-4 ].

Engineering Application Review Status

All public water system (PWS) projects submitted for engineering review to the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) Center for Drinking Water Quality will appear on this webpage. This online search contains information for all applications submitted after January 2018 and is updated weekly. Use the scroll bars to navigate up, down, and across to view the entirety of the tables and use the search bar to narrow results.

Public Drinking Water Systems Tracking Table

  • Project ID# - Every project submitted for review is given an identification number.
  • PWS ID# - Each licensed PWS is issued a unique identification number. Engineering applications for proposed PWSs are marked “New PWS” in the PWS ID# column.
  • SRF - Certain drinking water infrastructure projects are funded by the Drinking Water State-Revolving Loan Fund (DWSRF or just SRF). For more information, visit Rhode Island’s Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund Program webpage.
  • Date Application Received - The date that the original submission is received by RIDOH.
  • Date Application Considered Complete - The date all documents and materials that are required for application review have been received and the application process is considered complete. 
  • Preliminary approval - RIDOH has approved the project to begin construction.
  • Final approval - This is granted once all documents have been submitted and approved by RIDOH and an inspection is performed to determine that construction is in accordance with the approved engineering plans.

Licensed Aquatic Venues Tracking Table

  • Pool ID# - Each licensed aquatic venue or pool is issued a unique identification number. Engineering applications for proposed pools are marked “New” in the Pool ID# column.
  • LAV Name  The name of the Licensed Aquatic Venue.
  • Date Application Received – The date that the original submission is received by RIDOH.
  • Date Application Considered Complete - The date when all documents and materials that are required for application review have been received and the application process is considered complete.
  • Preliminary approval - RIDOH has approved the project to begin construction.
  • Final approval - This is granted once all documents have been submitted and approved by RIDOH and an inspection is performed to determine that construction is in accordance with the approved engineering plans.
