Mission
To ensure all Rhode Island students have a chance to be fully immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases before high school graduation.
History
The Vaccinate Before You Graduate (VBYG) Program was launched in 2001 to help students complete their Hepatitis B vaccination series in Grade 12. In 2010, the program expanded to include all high school students in Rhode Island and began offering all routine adolescent immunizations recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and listed below. In September 2015, the VBYG program expanded again to include all middle school students in Rhode Island.
