Mission
To protect and promote the health of all Rhode Island children by ensuring timely, equitable access to life-saving immunizations. We’re committed to reducing vaccine-preventable diseases through education, outreach, and collaboration with families, healthcare professionals, and communities.
What we do
- Eliminate cost as a barrier to immunization by providing free vaccines to healthcare professionals for children from birth through age 18.
- Help ensure that all kids are vaccinated according to the recommended Childhood and Adolescent Immunization Schedule.
- Adopt a universal vaccine policy, strong partnerships, and sophisticated immunization registry to improve and maintain high immunization coverage rates among children.
- Maintain an immunization registry in collaboration with the department's KIDSNET program.
- Alert providers to immunizations that are due, missing, or invalid for individual children using KIDSNET.
- Produce quality assurance reports and assessment of vaccination coverage rates by providers.
