To monitor students' oral health along with other health indicators to ensure disparities are recognized and addressed. Student's with good oral health perform better in school.
Schools are required to submit aggregate kindergarten and third grade dental screening data to the Rhode Island Department of Health.
Each year, school nurses are required to complete and submit dental screening information about the students in kindergarten and third grade students through a web-based school reporting tool.
