Visit the Lab

The Rhode Island State Health Laboratories are located at 150 Richmond Street, Suite 100, Providence, RI 02903. The building is on the corner of Richmond and Clifford Streets. 

Where to go

  • To drop off a sample for testing, use the Laboratory Central Services parking lot and entrance at the back of the building, off Clifford Street.
  • All other visitors should use the main entrance on Richmond Street. Check in at the front desk or ring the video doorbell for service.

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A limited number of short-term (10-15 minute) parking spots are available in a small parking lot next to the loading docks off Clifford Street. Visitors can use this lot to drop off samples or pick up testing supplies from Laboratory Central Services

Other visitors can use the parking garage at 75 Clifford Street or find on-street parking.

  • Visitors must show proper identification, such as a driver’s license, Department of Health identification badge, or another photo ID.
  • Visitors are allowed in designated areas only. Please follow all safety guidelines and staff instructions.

Language access

Over-the-phone interpretation services can be made available at no cost to visitors with limited English proficiency.

  • Our facility is fully wheelchair accessible, with accessible parking spaces located near the main entrance. 
  • Automatic doors are available at all public entrances. 
  • Accessible restrooms are located on each floor. 
  • Elevators provide access to all levels of the building. 
  • Seating is available in all waiting areas.
