Nara Organics Recalls Powdered Infant Formula

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is advising consumers that Nara Organics is voluntarily recalling powdered infant formula due to possible contamination with clostridium botulinum, the organism that causes botulism.
The recall applies to the following products:
- Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula, 700g, with UPC 860013251901
- Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula, 400g, with UPC 860013251918
All lots currently on the market are impacted by this recall. The lot code is on the bottom of each can. The specific lot codes of recalled products are:

The recalled product was distributed nationally in Target stores, on target.com, and on Nara.com between June 2025 and June 2026.
To date, no illnesses or adverse medical events related to this recall have been reported in Rhode Island; however, 3 cases of botulism in infants who consumed Nara formula were reported in California, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
Infant botulism is a rare, but potentially fatal, illness. Symptoms include constipation, poor feeding, ptosis (drooping eyelid), sluggish pupils, low muscle tone, difficulty sucking and swallowing, weak or altered cry, generalized weakness, respiratory difficulty, and possibly respiratory arrest. Any infant who has consumed a recalled product and has symptoms of botulism should be seen by their healthcare provider for immediate care.
Customers who have purchased the recalled product should stop using it immediately.
