The State Health Laboratories recently moved to a new building at 150 Richmond Street in Providence. 

Some testing services are temporarily unavailable to allow time to set up lab equipment correctly and make sure tests results are accurate.

Information for Laboratory Clients

The lab is now receiving samples at 150 Richmond Street for:

• Rabies testing
• Clinical specimen testing
• Forensic evidence testing

The lab is not currently receiving water samples for testing from:

• Public water systems
• Private well owners and home owners
• Public pools

This page will be updated when the Lab starts accepting these samples at its new location. 

What to do while the Lab is not accepting samples

• Public water systems: Submit required samples to another certified analytical laboratory.
• Private well owners and homeowners: Submit required samples to another certified drinking water testing lab.
