School Health Reports

Purpose

To identify emerging health problems and establish and track public health goals and trends within our school-aged population.

In the 2018-2019 school year, 96% of Rhode Island Kindergarten children and 75% of 7th grade students are up-to-date on all required vaccines. 76% of 8th graders received 2+ doses of HPV vaccine, 81% of 9th graders completed the HPV vaccine series (2 or 3 doses), and 85% of 12th graders received one dose of MCV4 on or after their 16th birthday. more
One in six Rhode Island middle school students report that they have drunk alcohol.
In 2015, one in 15 middle school students report having used marijuana – the same number of students that have tried an electronic cigarette product.
