Mpox (Monkeypox) Case Data

RIDOH and CDC are updating web pages with the term "mpox" to reduce stigma and other issues associated with prior terminology. This change is aligned with the recent World Health Organization decision.

Purpose

To provide ongoing surveillance on the burden and distribution of mpox in Rhode Island.

Key Points

These graphs present data on the case counts of mpox in Rhode Island, offering a break down by age, gender, HIV status, vaccination status, race, ethnicity, use of antiviral treatment, and use of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis. Data will be updated weekly.

Total Cases by Demographic Group

Counts of less than five are suppressed in accordance with RIDOH’s Small Numbers Policy. The charts below do not show surpressed data.

*Indicates the number of individuals who report intimate contact with cisgender men in the 3 weeks prior to illness onset.
