Key Information

Health risks about tobacco use as reported by public school students grades 6 through 12 on the Youth Risk Behavior Survey.

Key Findings

  • Six times as many Middle School students use e-cigarettes than smoke cigarettes.
  • 1 in 4 High School students used tobacco in 2017.
  • While smoking cigarettes among high school students has declined and 4 in 10 students have tried an e-cigarette.
  • Two in ten high school students currently use e-cigarettes.
