Mission
To provide career planning opportunities that meet the needs of the agency, support a diverse workforce, and develop individuals to become public health leaders.
What we do

Create opportunities for continued public health education throughout one’s career in collaboration with academic institutions and partners to strengthen the public health workforce infrastructure and promote a Culture of Continuous Learning at RIDOH.

Assess trends in workplace attitudes, morale, and climate, and identify innovative solutions to critical workforce, economic, and training challenges.

Develop innovative programs to identify and mentor emerging leaders, expand the capacity of individuals to serve in leadership roles, and promote a Strengths-based culture.

Foster, coordinate, and monitor linkages among academia, government and the RIDOH workforce.

Foster Adjunct Faculty/Guest Lecturer opportunities for RIDOH staff at academic institutions.
