Mission

To provide career planning opportunities that meet the needs of the agency, support a diverse workforce, and develop individuals to become public health leaders.

What we do

  • Create opportunities for continued public health education throughout one’s career in collaboration with academic institutions and partners to strengthen the public health workforce infrastructure and promote a Culture of Continuous Learning at RIDOH.
  • Assess trends in workplace attitudes, morale, and climate, and identify innovative solutions to critical workforce, economic, and training challenges.
  • Develop innovative programs to identify and mentor emerging leaders, expand the capacity of individuals to serve in leadership roles, and promote a Strengths-based culture.
  • Foster, coordinate, and monitor linkages among academia, government and the RIDOH workforce.
  • Foster Adjunct Faculty/Guest Lecturer opportunities for RIDOH staff at academic institutions.
