Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) 2026 – Short-Term Project Funding Opportunity
The Rhode Island Department of Health’s (RIDOH) Drug Overdose Prevention Program invites applications from eligible organizations and agencies to apply for a Short-Term Funding Opportunity to support projects that work to operationalize recommendations made by the Rhode Island Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) Team. RIDOH’s intention is to award up to six (6) organizations up to $4,950 per award. Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations and/or government entities with experience providing services, support, and engagement to populations affected by overdose or can provide justification for other demonstrated efforts that address the overdose epidemic in Rhode Island.
Applications should be submitted by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026 via email to: Heather Coia at Heather.Coia@health.ri.gov with “OFR Short Term Project Funding Opportunity Application” in the subject line of the email. Questions should be submitted in writing via email to Heather Coia at Heather.Coia@health.ri.gov with “OFR Short Term Project Opportunity Question” in the subject line. The deadline for the submission of questions is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026. At the conclusion of the Q & A period, all questions and official answers will be posted as an addendum on the RIDOH website. RIDOH will not be responding directly to applicants, and phone calls are strictly prohibited.
