Initial Licensing & Renewal Information
Important Update
The statutes for the licensing of massage therapists have been moved to R.I. Gen. Laws § 5-95 and updated.
One update is extending the renewal cycle for licensed individuals from one (1) year to two (2) years. This means that you must renew your license this year prior to its June 30, 2025 expiration date. The license that is issued to you this summer will not need to be renewed until June 30, 2027.
In addition, Continuing Education requirements (CEs) are increasing from 6 to 24 and must be completed during the new renewal period of 07/01/2025 and 06/30/2027.
