The Initial Lead Renovator course provides required training for individuals who perform or supervise renovation, repair, painting (RRP), and lead hazard control activities in pre-1978 residential and child-occupied facilities in Rhode Island. The course covers lead health effects, applicable federal and Rhode Island regulations, and required lead-safe work practices, including containment, dust control, cleaning verification, and documentation. A hands-on skills component evaluates proper containment setup and cleaning procedures in accordance with EPA RRP standards. Successful completion qualifies participants for the Rhode Island Lead Renovation Firm license.
