Public Health Research

Public health is improved by the awareness of analysis and research into population-based health problems and effective interventions to address those issues. The Department of Health has worked with the library community to improve access to public health research for the public and, particularly, for our employees.

These sources identify public health research in the public domain. The abstracts for most research articles are available though full text access to articles may be limited by copyrights.

Information for Rhode Islanders

The Rhode Island State Library system's AskRI.org provides Rhode Islanders free access to EBSCO online which provides access to magazine and journal articles and reference librarian support.

Information for Department of Health Employees

In addition to these free resources Department of Health employees enjoy free full-text articles from many public health and medical journals, and assistance from a medical librarian through an agreement with the National Network of Libraries Medicine - New England Region. (more).
